Asunto: Matchmaker Technical Meeting, round #4 - FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 2014

Hi Matchmaker team and other interested,

We will have the Technical Meeting, round #4 on Friday, April 4, 2014.

The topic will be matchmaker feedback and input from users. Since we're talking about user interaction here, I think it might be helpful if someone from IDRC could join. To give input on whether the requested feedback/interaction is sensible, not too overwhelming, etc.

As a preliminary agenda - as always, more items are welcome:

  * What kind of input do we need from the users (and when should this happen)
     * AI: How well did we do with the last UI adaptation? in a scale 0-5 (the 5-star rating system)
  * What kind of messages do we want to send to the users (and when)
     * AI: status messages, e.g.: "we've changed your screen contrast due to the surrounding luminosity"
and "we've started NVDA for you because this machine cannot execute your preferred Jaws"
and "this settings can be fine-tuned using the combo-boxes over there"

Plus injection of recommendations in the comboboxes. So the user can directly select one of this options inside the comboboxes to get the most out of the matchmakers. E.g:
            - we don't know how fast the user can hear the speech nor what is her preferred voice
            - we start "Carlos" and "slow-pace"
            - but we offer a combo based on users near to him (nearness function, ST-mm and RM-mm topic) to put "Silvia + fast-pace"
            - we don't apply directly Silvia bc it can lead to a non accesible UI for the user
  * How is this presented to the user?
     * AI: via the PCP, given that most of the users will call it "the GPII" as some other users call "The internet" to the IE icon.
  * Do we have any requirements to the PCP/PMT teams?
  *
        * AI: a support for this status messages (my initial thought is a status bar, but UX experts should talk about it). A mental model that could work for users with smartphones is having icons that you can click to get the full message. Also the 5-star rating system UI component (namely 5 blank stars that the user can fill). Also the possibility of injecting options inside the comboboxes.
        * Incl. concrete points to present at the PCP/PMT meeting the following wednesday
           * AI: Honestly I think these ideas are almost JIRA's but please let me know if I should add more info (in case you like the ideas of course)

We will have the meeting in the regular gotomeeting room https://www3.gotomeeting.com/join/705233502

Hi Matchmakers,

As decided today at the meeting, here is a doodle poll for setting up the next one:

The topic for this meeting will be matchmaker feedback (and, I guess - input to the matchmakers).

As a preliminary agenda - as always, more items are welcome:

  * What kind of input do we need from the users (and when should this happen)
  * What kind of messages do we want to send to the users (and when)
  * How is this presented to the user?
  * Do we have any requirements to the PCP/PMT teams?

I'll close the poll end of day Friday and post the most suitable timeslot!

Cheers,
~Kasper
